2004
Display
This year we added a series of arches to the entrance of
the display, What a difference it made to the look. In the center we put
our donation collection box (also new) so it could be seen both coming
and going. Over the pool we installed three Fifty foot arches to help
remove the pool from view, this was rather difficult and it took three
tries with different size piping to complete. It was defiantly well worth
the effort as your eye goes to the lights and not the pool. We rearrange
some other the other displays and ended up with a great new look.
Charity
We added collection area's for both Toys for Tots
and the
local food pantry. People were great with donations to both, We had a
truck load of toys and food, the toys went to the Fire Department
for wrapping and distribution for Christmas and the food is being
delivered to the food pantry.
Donations
Unbelievable, is the only word I can use to describe the
people who came to the festival! Cash donations of over Three Thousand
Dollars Plus!
The Lions also raised over a thousand dollars with a
Christmas Tree covered with Scratch Tickets and Pictures with Santa. The
pictures were only Five Dollars and were taken and printed with Kodak
Digital Equipment. The quality is great.
Lions Weekends
The second and third weekends of the month were dedicated
to the Bridgewater and Hanson Lions. They came in with a crew and serve
free Hot coffee, Hot Chocolate, Candy, Cookies and a TON of Hot Popcorn
and took pictures with Santa. Donations received during these weekends
will go to the Lions for there charities.
